The new big xyt ecosystems offering will expand what was already available to the bourse to other trading venues.

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) on Wednesday announced the launch of big xyt ecosystems, a tool aimed at delivering Trade Explorer data analytics solutions to global stock exchanges and their networks.

Africa’s largest exchange teamed up with big xyt – a global independent provider of smart data and analytics solutions – to expand the JSE Trade Explorer analytics offering to other trading venues. The solution was initially announced in May 2022 and focused on the JSE’s trading participants in the cash equity and ETF markets.

“It provides sophisticated analytics tools that enable users to understand market liquidity, quality and flows, market share, business concentration, execution performance, and tools for analysing trading patterns and for pre-trade decision support,” the JSE said.

JSE group CEO Leila Fourie believes that the joint venture positions the JSE as the centre of innovation on the continent.

“Exchanges globally understand the need for a quality and user-friendly market data offering. Our analytics solutions will further entrench the JSE’s position as a centre of innovation for financial markets on the African continent and beyond. The collaboration with big xyt also marks an exciting step in our information services strategic journey, supporting growth through innovation.”
